doesnt it bug you when you have your key in the ignition (not on) and you have the driver side door open it makes that stupid "DING..DING..DING" noise or whatever it is? i especially hate it when im washing my z and getting around to drying it and i want to listen to some music and that "DING..DING..DING" noise gets on my f-ing nerves. is there any way of deleting this "DING..DING..DING" CRAP ..someone help me. my car is a 97 m6. thanks

I never did it on my f-body but when I was younger, I was the same way and wanted to get rid of it too. One that car there was a button inside the door frame area (between the hinges) that's pressed in when the doors was closed. I just found the wires going to that button and put a little toggle switch on them that way when I was listening to the radio with the doors open I could flip that switch and kill the power to the buzzer, when I wanted it to all work normally I flipped my toggle switch back...
Again I haven't done this on and f-body, but is should be the same principle. You just need to find if the current switch cuts power when closed or open and add your toggle switch accordingly...
Or you can go getto and duct tape the button closed...

You can turn your car to ignition rather than acc and the ding will shut off. Of course the fuel pump is on, but I am not sure if there are any consequences to leaving it on without actually running the engine.

Or just snip the wires(or unplug) to the two push buttons on either side of the car on the inner door well (on the body). That way it just removes the door ding and not the key-in-ignition or lights-on ding.
