Default Before I Install

Before I install my pacesetter long tubes, pacesetter y pipe, and magnaflow cat back I want to make sure I have everything and if I need anything else. The headers came with front o2 extensions so I wont need them. Im getting rid of the cats and Im going to get a tune probably madz28. Should I use the copper gaskets that came with the headers or should I get fel-pro. Should I use the the clamps that it came with or should I get dynomax 3" band clamps? Would I need the butt-joint clamps or the lap-joint? Would you recommend that I get stage 8 locking header bolts? Thanks

I would get smaller head-diameter header bolts. I got a set of 3/8" head stainless header bolts. Very easy to get the box end of a wrench on them. Copper gaskets should be fine. Would recommend band clamps, makes it very easy to take apart if need be. While you have the headers off, take a dremel, or grinder and open up the port just a bit inside each tube. You'll notice the weld from the header at the junction of the flange to the tube protudes into the tube quite a bit, choking it down some. Open it up a bit.

you need the front o2's buddy otherwise your computer wont know what do with the air/fuel ratio when the car goes into closed loop. it will run like crap. i suggest getting the o2 extensions that plug in to the harness. easier then soldering. makes for quick change if you ever have to rplace the o2 sensors. the extensions are only 22.00 a piece.

u bolt clamps or the band clamps will work. i have 3in band clamps on mine

Ive got the exact same exhaust set up that you are putting in all the way down to the Madz28 tune except for I have the off road Pacesetters ! You are going to love it! I used the clamps that came with it and used an aluminum gasket set by Percy's. The dead soft gasket set by them is realy good. I used some locking bolts on the LT'S as well. A little extra money but definately worth it.

Also will the magnaflow intermediate pipe slip-fit with the pacesetter y pipe? Is one of the pipes slightly bigger then the other?

Mine didn't, they were exactly the same size. Go get a $8.00 3" band clamp, problem solved.
