How to make my 95' Ta outrun a 04' GTO?

For reference my buddies '04 auto GTO ran 8 passes at our local 1/8th mile track. All of the passes were between 8.80-8.90. He ran it at the 1/4 mile later in the year with a K+N kit and went a best of 13.65ish if I remember correctly. I'd think you'll need a few more bolt-ons to be sure of the win. Do all of the free mods, like the tb bypass, gut the cat if you have one, prell shampoo cap in the elbow, etc... You could spend a day and shed about 150 lbs off of the car if you really wanted to. I would get a nice cat-back exhaust system, and the K+N CAI kit, together they would free up 10-15 hp.

I spanked a Yellow 04 GTO back when I had my 1996 LT1 camaro, as long as your running good it should take it stock. I only had an SLP CAI and shift improvement module on the 96...

I just beat one at the track last tuesday. I think it was an M6 and didnt know what was going on with his car. I got a 13.8 with .037 r/t and he got a 15.4 with a .576 r/t. it was funny.

Yeah I actually raced two different yellow GTO's. One was and auto and stock I believe, I want to say it ran a 14.4 through the quarter and I ran a 13.8. The M6 I don't think the guy know how to launch his times were much worse.

hit it with a 150 shot, youll pull him so hard he'll think something went wrong with his car.
for those that say that it's bad or it will hurt the motor, I've ran close to 20 10lb bottles through my lt1 this past summer, internally stock with 140k miles, still has great compression and seems to run better than it did before i sprayed it lol

I agree with kinglt-1. GTO LS1's are alot of hype. If you can drive your car like you stole it you will take me without a second thought. My advice woop is ***, then buy some n2o, cause you know his daddy is going to buy some boltons for his gto, but you will be ready for the next contender.

All the GTO's have some serious traction issues...they ususally run from 13.8 to 14.2 from what I have seen at the track, you should already have enough to beat him!!!!!

yea i ran a 04 gto with nothing more than an airfoil cai and cat back, from a dead start and won, but from a 40 mph start a gto ruined me..it was a 6.0 but im pretty sure it woulda had me at any angle
