Default A/C evaporator box delete

Is it possible to remove the A/C evap box from the passenger side of the firewall with the engine still in the car or is it a real PIA?Im wanting to free up some room under the hood and the evaporator has a leak in it and i dont really care much about having A/C but i do want my heat to work.Any advice would be great.

You mean like this..

I guess it can be done with the Engine in the Car, but it would be a pain in the ***..

When I deleted my A/C I left the box on the firewall there and capped the two holes coming on the front. It is still much cleaner then before without the lines and the cylinder near the battery.

I would love to remove the box too, but when I was looking at it I decided it would be way too much of a hassle with the engine in the car.

Why is it necessary to cap the holes?

It will affect the Blower Motor..it's supposed to be all sealed in..that and anything from the Engine Bay can get into the Car.

^What he said.

Also, that way if I decide to put A/C back on it one day(if I start driving it around more, decide to sell, etc) I will be sure that it is still clean and rust free inside, and I can just bolt a system back on.

Not many people want an A/C deleted car in Florida.
