Default LE1 LE2 guys, ive got a ???

Im looking into possibly getting an le2 setup for my 94 formy m6. im looking into a streetable 400rwhp, streetable since its my dd, and from my research le2 is the way to go. i have emailed lloyd, and he said it would be more streetable wiht the le1 cam and le2 heads vs. le2 h/c. i know the le2 kit wants to rev out to 6500-6600 rpm and on a stock non-forged bottom end this could be trouble. i just wanna hear some first hand experience with the le2 h/c, le2 head/le1 cam setups and supporting mods and if you have had any trouble with the stock bottom end or anything. also since it is my dd, with the basic supporting mods(lt, injectors, tb, tune....) what kind of gas mileage are u guys pulling? im on a college budget so every bit of info helps in my decison. any comments are appreciated, thanks guys.

Go with the LE2. Forget about gas mileage, you cant have both. I wouldnt waste my time putting in anything smaller than a LE2 personally. Go with the LE1 heads if you want to save some money.

I have the LE2 heads and the LE1.5 cam on my new all bolt-on 355, see sig.
Power is outstanding and daily driveability is nearly the same as stock except for being a tad softer under 2K RPM. MPG is slightly less than stock.

I chose the LE1.5 which is the same duration as the LE1 cam with more lift for even greater torque across the board. I am shifting at 6300 which is very safe for a new motor and fairly safe for a stock short block. There is no power fall off at all even at 6.3K RPM.

I chose the LE2 heads since they did flow better and were more robust due to newer and better individual components.

Again no regrets with the combo, I am expecting to be making right at 400 RWHP or so. I will be getting my dyno tune hopefully very soon.

See sig. Dyno number were at 900 miles on new motor and stock airbox. Turns 115mph in the 1/4 at 3750 lbs with CAI. Idles smooth and makes power from 1500 to 6500. Don't really care about mileage.

As far as budgeting... add up everything you think you'll possibly need... and then DOUBLE it!

My last car was a 95 Ta with LE2 heads, cam and full bolt ons. The power and streetability were awesome definitely no issues there. I had stock bottom end and never had any issues there either. When I dyno'd it I believe it peaked at around 6300 rpms.
Bad part, the gas mileage was horrible ~ like 9 mgp in town lol
Good luck

Stock crank and rods with forged pistons. Everything was squared, aligned, balanced, etc. I'm running a bit of compression though.

I get 15 mpg with my LE1 setup. Very driveable and has been very reliable too which I must admit I'm surprised. Here is a mod list and idle clip.

would i be able to spin 6300 RPMs with the LE2 and still be safe with stock rebuilt 355? or would that be pushing it? the engine has about 5K on it.

Pretty much everything you can bolt on to it. H/C/I, 52mm TB, K&N FIPK, 1.6 RR's, electric w/p, headers, !cats, TF Elbow, etc.

Forged Eagle bottom end. 48 lbs crank, 6.0" stroker rods, SRP, L19 bolts

Mileage in town is usually ~15 if I drive. My daughter got about 17 when she did.

I did LE2 heads and LE1HL (same lift but less duration than LE2) cam for more usable power with a stock bottom end.
Click links in sig for mods, vid and other details.

I have the LE2 Heads w/ GM847 cam which is more comparable to the le3 cam i guess. My car has seen 6800 rpms but have the shifts set at 6400 and have seen no ill effects thus far. Putting a direct port nitrous system on it and am going to see what this car can really do....
