Default WTF, my balancer just fell off!!!

My bro just called me and said that the f***ing balancer came off along with the hub. He moved the car around my back yard to wash it and noticed it was misfiring really bad, no power steering, and low voltage. How the f**k does this happen, last time I put that thing back on I made sure I put it on correctly and used loctite as well? Since the hub/balancer is off Im going to replace the opti with a Delco cuz I have an Auotcrap replacement.

is it just me, or has there been quite a few threads lately about balancers falling off/breaking? hopefully this isn't a pattern...

I'm in the process of buying a 96 Impala SS for dirt cheap with the same issue. Guy changed the front seal 2 years ago and now its dropping the hub off everytime. He said he even bought a new hub and it did the same thing. I know hes not too mechanicly inclined so I'm hoping I can fix it with a keyed hub, but crank snout could be damaged. Good luck my friend!!

At least it happened in your yard. Mine flew off on the way to work one day and smacked the underside of the car. Mine was just the pulley that came off though. The hub was fine. I used loctite and longer bolts and it is fine now.
