Default How do I get the air inlet hose around a BBK 58mmTB?

I have a problem. I have a BBK 58 mm LT1 TB and It has an aluminum elbow and I have new 3.5" hoses with them. I can't get the hose over the oval TB. What gives?

Is it some how a larger hose or is it 3.5"? I have tried 2 different kinds of hoses.

I lubed it and heated it and all kinds of pulling stretching. No go.

Help.

I believe it takes a 4" hose to fit over the oval throttle body. Maybe you could use a lot of Vaseline.

The elbow and MAF were all sent with 3.5 inch hose.

Any one else?

u try actually measuring the two pieces? if the TB and the hose are the same size, it's just a matter of some good persuasion. if they are a 1/2" off....i dnt think it will work. I remember having a bitch of a time getting the stock elbow onto my BBK at first but made it work. Now i have the aluminum trickflow elbow and it works just fine.

The LT1 elbows I have seen are 3 1/2 inch on one side and 4" oval on the other. I think he is speaking of the portion from the oval elbow to the BBK throttle body. Like was said above in a couple of posts it takes a 4" hose.

It worked on my car. Although it is an L98 the principle is the same. I used the LT1 intake elbow from Summit/Trickflow (part of my cold air intake system) and a Holley 58mm throttle body. I used a piece of 4 inch hump hose to connect everything together. No problems. The picture shown above is very misleading. Here is a picture installed on my car while sitting on the dyno.

All I know, is mine fit mine no problem. Mine was/is TPI, but I can't see that being the reason. If my car was here, I'd go check fitment with alu, but I can check with the stock rubber. I'll BRB.

EDIT: Yea it's a tighter squeeze than the TPI, but it went on. I can't see the neoprene ones being much diff.
