I have had my LT1 to 140 many times... but the fastest i have gone in it was 145 and i just ran out of room.... definately had alot more in it.... and my car was basically stock when i did the 145 run.... but i agree 0-100 is alot better, banging through the gears as fast as you can....

around the weight of a z06? as in 150 pounds more than them...
and a smaller motor with not as good heads or intake....and an auto not a 6 speed...and worse aerodynamics...along with much worse weight distribution

I have had my car (the trans am) up to 160 in 5th gear at about 5800 rpm and called it quits.

I shift at 6400 so I still had 600 rpm left in 5th and another whole gear to boot. The car was still pulling....hard.

I have 3.73's and if I was to top out 5th....were talking 180mph at 6400 rpm. There is no doubt in my mind that I could top out 5th gear. Any f-body with 450hp+ should be able to.

I think the trans am is more aerodynamic than the camaro, but let me tell you, I have the formula hatch (no spoiler) and at 160 it felt like I was going to take flight at any time.
