top speed?

Default top speed?

whats the recorded top speed for a stock lt1 with no governer? ive heard people say 150,160, and even 180, which i doubt. could someone clear this up?

i've gotten mine to 145 then i thought about my old tires and let off lol

im pretty sure i was doing over 150 before, but it was at a quick glance and the speedo looks buried. i just didnt wanna tkae my eyes off the road for any more than half a second lol.

i have heard that they top out at between 155 and 160 i have only had mine up to 125ish

plenty left

In a gm hightech magazine I read an article that the top speed on the ol lt1 hit 178

not srue about stock, but in my 95 m6 i went 158mph on gps..i think i was still in 5th gear but i cant remember..still had plenty left to go though, but i had proved my point lol.

i had mine with stock gearing at 5600 rpm in 5th gear and they say these cars read about 200 rpm high so lets say it was 5400 rpm which is 163 mph

i was scared as hell when i did that and the rpm was still climbing when i let out of it never again

I had mine on the needle at 155 and it sat there for a second still pulling but like someone already said, at that fast you dont like to take your eyes off the road lol

yea, just wondering. i knew they got up there, but damn, theres no way im taking my eyes off the road. do they top out in 6th or 5th?

Not going to happen. I've had mine up to around 155mph when it was stock a few times and I didn't have too much rpm left

i still have the stock steel shaft there is a vibration around 85-90 but then it clears out and is good to go

i had the old steel ds when i bought it and shook the car at 76-90 way too bad... swaped to a alum ls1 ds and problem sloved. even got two u-joints and balanced the old one and he said it balanced perfect but no go

5th gear is 160. I had Mine to 147 in 6th..... nothing left.
