What irritates me is the way everyone just feeds ignorance rather than correct it. If I nicely say the right thing it will get lost in the 12 others who post the wrong thing.
Before you go talking up midlift numbers might compare to other heads, your midlift numbers are NOT that good.

I agree there is a lot of bad info out there that just gets passed around. However "ported and polished" is a phrase that commonly gets thrown around and many people are just refering to what they've heard their dad's say. I've heard many old timers talk about "ported and polished" heads, they probably weren't poslished (or even ported for that matter) but I knew what they were talking about.
I was trying to say not to only look at the max flow as many manufactures advertise because it's misleading.
I never said my heads had great flow, I was simply giving him the awnser to his question.

So what is the perfect cam for his car?

Are you kidding?
Polishing is not something done by intelligent people looking for something in this range of performance. MAYBE really high rpm race stuff, but anyone who does it for the street is doing either as a marketing tool to impress the ignorant or is ignorant themselves.

but for the mediocre off the shelf stuff I think xfi should be given a shot if not for the sheer fact that there isn't much info out there and not much numbers to boot.

I never said i wanted to have the best of anything, and to be honest I will be happy if i get 330RWHP. Im not saying I know alot thats why im at a LT1 tech site, if i knew everything Id be doing this professionally and not as a hobby..thanks for riding my *** for just trying to learn, maybe since your so damn smart you should set me up with the perfect cam with in my budget and since polishing is retarded unless im going to be revving high maybe you want to tell me what to do there as well.

I was wondering whats the hooplah about with the XFI cam? What is the advertised bonus to having it vs. any other cam we've seen or heard about?

I'm running the Comp XFI-292 (biggest XFI), 1.6 RRs, beehives w/ AFR 195s in my 396 stroker. It's in my bracket car and I really like the cam, also very broad power band and I turn it just over 6500!
It runs 1.48 60fts, 7.00 1/8 and 10.83 1/4.

Thats a WHOLE LOT OF MOTOR there.. not just the XFI cam doing that. Have any dyno graphs? did you ever run a different cam with the rest of your setup like that? Just curious...

just let people run it, it isnt you thats using it and has no effect on you. you seem like your about to pop a blood vessle in your head because people use an XFI instead of a custom grind. just settle down its only a cam....

Regarding the 280XFI cam we have a car here locally running a 355 motor that passes California smog. I'm running the 268XFI cam and no problems passing California smog. Almost forgot. We also have a 400ci motor car running the 280XFI cam and he passes smog. With a decent tune there will not be a problem.

I have the 268XFI. With ported heads and a few other mods, I am at 350tq and 370hp. On a tune that is lean. Going for a final tune on friday. I will post the final results soon.
I don't see anything wrong with these cams.
