Default first time in rain with LTs

yea it actually happened, we here in southern CA had flooding!

anyways, this was my first time out with my LTs. what do you guys who see rain use to wipe them down after it rains to prevent rusting? is there any kind of polish?

I've never thought about the rain for LT's being a problem. I am going to be installing them soon. I am going to get uncoated ones, and my car is my daily driver. Is there anything I should do to cover the O2s or something in case of rain?

Lol... mine are uncoated so i just let them do their thing. Pretty sure by the time the water hits it, it evaporates. Those things get pretty hott.... I decided to lay my hand on one once when i was checkin my coil pack. Very fun experience. As for the o2's, ive never heard of covering them up???? Maybe a good idea, but it never seems to be a topic when people are talkin about header swaps.

just make sure your extensions are tied away from them and not hanging.

if you're going to drive it you're going to have to get over it. the rest of your exhaust is getting just as wet...so is the floor pan,a-arms,diff and even the tranny ! suck it up and drive that beast !

Don't worry about it man. I have pacesetter LTs (coated) and I drive in the rain all of the time. You might get some rust eventually but that is how it goes.

Simple green them.

Your 'rusting' is going to start on the inside before you see actual damage on the outside.

Who cares! I would rather stab my eyes out than sit in a fbodies engine bay trying to clean the headers

Have then coated, and in time the coast chips

Or buy KOOKS
