I turned my cam only 230/236 to 67-6800 with no problems, but some others haven't been so lucky.

alot of people will say dont go past 6300, but theres also plenty of people who have and have been fine. I ran a 233/236 to 68-6900 on a stock bottom end for 5 months every weekend and never had a problem.

Kind of depends on how clean you keep it on install. Won't last long at all if your not carefull, even at lower rpm. Also depeds on the condition of the motor to start with. All in all, youv'e already bought a cam that likes to see some rpm. (6600- 6800rpm) So youv'e already made your bed. Good luck.

just cheap insurance replace the spider or run link bars. never thought about it fatiguing until i took off the intake and my motor was destroyed with less than 800 miles on it. Not common but it sure did suck!

The question is why would you want to spin your motor that high? People think that just because the rpm's are going all the way to 7000 that the car is making power, Well it's not. I have had a ton of customers that told me with their combo it should make power up to like 6800 when in actuality the power was all done by 6000. This is why going on the Dyno is a good idea to show where your peak TQ/HP is so you know where to shift. If not on a Dyno, go to the track and short shift say like at 6000 and work your way up 200 rpm at a time keeping tabs on MPH NOT E.T. There are too many variables that constitute towards E.T. You will be surprised that you have been spinning your motor for nothing. Oh and for the stock LT1, It's all over by 5500 or so.....
