I put one on my car with the engine in the car. You just have to spin it around and work it in there. I did a write up when I did it. I'll try to find the link.

I just got mine out, removed the entire box and ducting. On the scale it was right at 27 pounds for all of it. Burkhart chassis is the cheapest on the delete panel.

Sorry to hi-jack but if you were to put a block off plate. You would have to cut a groove inbetween the blower fan and the core?

I took out my heater only, left my AC and the rest of the HVAC (or more accurately, VAC) system. I just stuffed an old shirt in there for now, maybe I will make a very small block off plate for my setup.

yes like on the first page you can see how you notch/cut out the part that would block the lil fan from spining directly into the heater side core..you just notch that out and then make a block of plate and your good..some cut up a can and make the flow more better as you can see on page 1

Now i want to know who has removed it all with out pulling the dash..i seen some one said a while back you can do it with just removing the glove box..has anyone else done it like this?

Nice pics of the delete process! I have done something similar, but my coolant plumbing is a mess. What did you do with the steam vent hose? I couldn't tell from the pics. Also, what water pump hose did you use on the driver side?

Thanks

i know this is old, but it's worth a shot XD.
I am in the process of removing the ac box in my car and would like to fab a plate with the channel for the air in order to keep the heat. Does anyone have a DXF for the block off plate? Thank you in advance

Yeah since I have to make it custom I was hoping to get a file that I can just cut on a laser vs buy on and modify it. I'll probably just trace it and fab it up. Maybe if there is any interest I'll make some more, to sell. It looks like there are plenty of people that want to clean up the engine bay, but don't want to give up the heat. As far as I know though there isn't anyone making a piece for it like that.

Now I have a way to measure an object using a special instrument and CAD and from that I can export to a DXF, TXT or a CSV file.
I think I'll do the raised tunnel, it's a bit more work but it will look sweet at the end I think. I'm gonna grab a .030" piece of lexan and use that to trace the shape, I don't have any fancy 3d scanner XD
