Stupid Question
I'm going to install my DMH Cutout this weekend right after the y-pipe under the rear seat.
I'm running LTs and ORY, and a custom built flowmaster catback. It's fairly quiet right now, real low at idle, and can't even hear it inside the car at 70mph. Is opening this cutout gonna make a big difference in sound? Just kinda curious. Would check LS1Sounds.com but my computer won't play the clips for some reason.

My dad is from the old days where Flowmasters ruled the streets and they used rocks and chisels in school... He insists that this damn flowmaster flows better than anything, so I'm gonna keep it and just do a cutout. It sounds nice anyways, just doesn't flow.

this is true, if you have the 80 series crossflow, alot of people have posted a difference of 15-30hp, with the cutout open vs 80 series.
im in the same boat, i like the sound of the muffler, its really deap and aggresive, but every once and a while you need to set off some car alarms

my flowmaster with my manifold and gutted cat set off every alarm around, it had this crazy *** resonence to it, it rattled and shook everything around.
My old highschool had pane windows, all the teachers hated my car, that damn building rattled like grandma's change purse every morning.

You'll be wowed when you open up the cutout for the first time. It is extremely loud. I love the roar of mine. I just wish I could leave it uncapped all the time. Because I don't hear my terrible exhaust leak at the header and y-pipe connection, on the passenger side when it's uncapped. lol
