Magnaflow Cat-back?
#42
Okay, i dont want to hijack the thread, but I have a related question. I am doing an LT1 rebuild with cc503 and long tubes, full bolt ons, and unfortunately I already have a flowmaster cat back. I got the 3" dual outlet with the big long round tips. I don't really like the sound, don't like the tips, and I've read here they don't flow so great. I would like to get some corsa or borla tips, which mostly come in 2.5". My question is, since I already have the 3" tubing running back to the muffler, should I just buy a new muffler (ie: hooker, dynomax, magna, etc) or an entirely new cat-back? Thanks.

Magnaflow sounds good go for it!
Ed: Just get a whole new catback especially since the Flowmaster 3in. system isn't stainless. My flowmaster system fell apart in a little over a year. Anyways I would think you would have to fab up a new muffler because every muffler has different dimensions and it may not fit that great in the end, just my .02

Alright, well I guess I just assumed that Flowies were SS because the one I had only the welds had surface rust. In the end, to me, it doesn't really matter, if it's aluminized and won't rust, then good
I love my SLP muffler. I recommend it highly. It's SUPPOSEDLY a Loud Mouth, but all the pics I've seen don't look like it. Still it sounds amazing.

Hey all, I read that flowmaster is a garbage cat-back because it's not stainless steel therefore doesn't flow good like SLP LM or GMMG Cat Backs. but what about Magnaflow Cat-backs? I have a wicked deal on getting a Magnaflow Cat-back or should I just stay with the Flowmaster I already have installed?
cheers!
cheers!
Stainless steel will last longer and more durable against salt and moisture.

Let me know how the magnaflow sounds. I have heard the clips on ls1sounds and on youtube, but cars always sound diffrent in person. I am trying to decide on which exhaust I want. I was thinking of putting lt's, ory, and gmmg. I was considering the magnaflow but I don't know of anyone that has one.
