Thats where I bought mine too, the partslady @ebay. New oem GM optispark.
I would definitely recommend getting the original equipment parts. And yes, most of the time it fails because of improper install.

The prices of unvented opti's really has me nickel and diming till I save enough to purchase one. I have an Autozone opti and I have swapped it out about 3-4 times and let me tell you they SUCK!!!!!! I've been trying to track down an ignition problem and there's nothing else to replace but the opti... again. AC Delco *** !!!

Do a search for Jason Cromer on here or Cz28.com.

He is down in Ft Walton Beach Fla. He has good deals on GM parts.

mine went out somewhere between 160,000 and 180,000

We stock the opti units, so if you want a new GM unit I'll make sure I'm your cheapest source for a new one

There are cars with over 200K on complete stock optis. It is the ignorant who neglect them and then bitch about it that give it a bad rap. It is a good part.

Dynaspark has a lot of stock pieces too it. MSD is fairly failure prone and of no real improvement despite people's instistance otherwise. I know a few guys who tried the MSD and returned to stock.

A 94 does have the disadvantage of being unvented, in most cases a MSD cap and rotor are all that is needed to make those vented and work great too.

from what i've seen there isn't anything wrong with them, for me i was able to get a vented opti without needing all the other pieces that go with it that was better than the stock piece with a decent warrenty

im will to bet taner has never tried one

The MSD i've heard a lot of mixed reviews about

The opti on my car has 300k atleast...

When I got the car it has 207k and it was destroyed... It looked perfect and we reused it, 90k on the rebuild...

So yea damn near 300k, doesn't miss a beat...

Are you saying 93-95(unvented) opti's can be vented using the MSD cap/rotor? Correct me if I'm wrong, please!
