GM opti-sparks rarely fail.it is usually installer mistakes etc.
Auto part stores fail cause they are poorly made and handled roughly in shipping.
There are so many posts about opti failure, spend the cash for a GM unit it will save you money and heartache later..

You should be able to get a GM replacement opti for considerably less than 400 bucks.

What I'm saying is you can spend 150 on a piece of that will probably last you 2 months or you can spend 300-400 (cost of a new GM) on a unit that will last for 10s of thousands of miles in almost every case. This has been discussed numerous times on here. Try a search.

If you get an autozone opti you are making a huge mistake.

Look for thepartsladi on EBay. I've never bought anything from them personally, but I believe they are legit.

I also just noticed that you had a '94. For some reason, I thought you had a '95. I guess I must have been talking to another poster. The unvented opti's are more expensive. I hear the Delphi units are the same thing as the AC/Delco, but some of the pics show the delphis with black caps. I would ask about that. There were some EBay vendors selling optis with black caps claiming they were AC/Delco when they weren't. Delphi is, or used to be, a GM supplier. It's possible that they actually manufacture the optisparks.

x2. I bought one from them and it worked out great. Some of the other sellers aren't really selling GM ones.

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about all_ignition. Personally, I would avoid them.

all_ignition is one of the rather shady sellers.

It's hit or miss with ebay. You have to know who you are buying from.
