Default Heads for 11's

What heads will I have the best chance at getting into the 11s with. Basicly I was going to just do a stock rebuild and build a 383 but thats way off now since I think im going to just buy an LS1 car as a DD in the near future so its time to build this 355 LT1 right once to get it into the 11's. What will I be looking at for heads?

Check out Advanced Induction products(190cc or 200cc depending on the rest of your setup)!! Or use the stock heads and have them ported by AI! Contact someone from AI and tell them your goals and they will help you get there!!

I would also contact some of the sponsors from this web site and talk to them as well. I'm sure that they also will have some research results as well. Here is a list of sponsors that have LT1 products for your car: AFR, Elliot Portworks, ET Performance, Port Pros, SDPC, and TEA. You don't see them in the LT1 section as much as the LSx section, but if you contact them they will get back to you.

Advanced Induction heads worked for me and consider mine is a stock shortblock and a heavier car. Lightest I have ever raced it was about 4100lbs and went 11.9s through mufflers in good but not great weather. 3400 stall and 3.73s make this a true driver.

I agree there is no need for an aftermarket head if you are looking for 11's, just get the stockers ported.

Since im 90% sure the heads are broken on the stock motor would I be better off getting used Stock ones or paying for aftermarket ones.

Just get a head/cam package from one of the sponsors and you're in the 11's!

I contacted Lloyd Elliot and he gave me some great advice. I'm doing a forged 383 NA with 11.8:1 compression and a LE2 kit. Should be Perfect for a street/strip setup thats capable of getting into the 11's with a 3600 LB. car. He said with all of the bolt ons.... upgraded suspension, LT's, Exhaust, Tune, TB, 36-42# Injectors, 3.42's, 3600 Stall, Radials/Slicks and lightweight wheels. Along with a good 60' time you should see mid to low 11's no problem.
AI is also a great place to get a heads/cam setup as well. A little pricier, but it's due to the parts they use. Billet camshaft, and etc. 96Capricemgr can shed some light on this subject.
Good Luck Man!
James
Contact some sponsors to see what they say! And You'll have to get some used heads for a core. But you can find them cheap in the for sale section.
