Default Any Estimates

So a buddy of mine owns a shop and is willing to peice me a motor for virtualy nothing. I am wondering if anyone has an estimate of the power / 1/4 mile times.

355:
Trickflow heads (Im only paying 450 for them and my stockers are shot)
Eagle crank, GM rods, 11:1 compression on the 64cc heads
CC305 cam, GM LT4 Rockers, New lifters and hardened pushrods
Pacesetter longtubes ORY Hooker catback
CAI and 52mm tb and port matched intake
And a dyno tune.

its hard to say but you will be dying for some drag radials, good luck planting 350+ horsepower on 245s. also are you going to get a stall and some gears?

Oh i overlooked the stall part, so the mid low 11's could be high low 12's

The only thing besides the heads that I have to pay for is the stall and gears that will be going on at the same time. And yeah before hitting the track its getting some suspension and tires.

well with the stall its going to suck power, so with that small of a cam and depending on what your heads flow then i would say around the 350RWHP range....BUT this is misleading because your car should easily hit low 11's with a stall. Stalled LT1's look horrible on the dyno but great at the track

There's absolutely no way he will put down 400+ with the 305 cam, especially through a stalled auto.

I don't see it running low 11s either. I'm assuming the heads are as cast rather than ported (since you didn't specify that + only 450). So basically you have a mild h/c setup with boltons. I would aim for mid-high 11s with that.

I kinda figured it would look not so good on the dyno but do good at the track. I also have the ability to spray if needed. I am hoping for at least an 11.9 pass.

im also assuming that the rest of the car is set up for it, meaning good tires, suspension, rear end, and driver. With all that working in your favor and depending on the stall size, i could see low 11's

I agree with infinitebird the cc305 will hold you back I would almost recommend the cc503 or a custom grind and track times are going to depend on the total package and how will it works together. What do you have for bolt ons ie.,tb,inj.,gears,stall,etc.

Actual LT4 rockers are for a metric stud, do you have those or GMPP version of the Crane golds?
The GMPP rockers are lift capacity limited and you will be near that limit, have to make sure the geometry is right or you will risk bottoming the rocker slot on the stud.

As cast the Trickflows are not worthwhile but for that price, I certainly see why you are doing this.
The cam is a poor choice, is it another piece you got a screaming deal on or can we help you make a better choice.

You put it together like this and I am going to say mid 12s with a decent but not great launch.

I would predict low 12's maybe high 11's full weight. I cant understand why some people are saying low 11's with a stall, that is extremely fast for a car with a 305 cam and Trickflow heads. I've seen several LE setups with all supporting mods barely break into the 11's or run high 11's and they are much better setups than the 305 with Trickflow heads. Basically by people saying you could hit low 11's is saying that if I put those heads on my car I would magically pick up a full second in the quarter which is a little outrageous.

not that the heads are that great but they are a bit better then stock. Again im assuming this is a purpose built drag car which will have all the suspension necessary and a pretty decent sized stall.

nothing against you at all whatsoever but my car has a decent sized stall and suspension so heads that are a bit better than stock will not turn my low 12's into low 11's, just dont want the OP to expect to take the car out and run an 11.2.

My estimates were high 12's. Also Yes the cam was a great deal at the price of 0 dollars. but after looking at things it is not well suited to what I am looking for so I am actualy open to sugestions on the cam. Also the heads are going to be ported by a local guy.

no way will he be running low 11's and low 12's is a stretch i feel too. the comp 305 is pretty much maxed out on stock heads. If you are going to take the time to do this kind of upgrade do it right. Heads on a lt1 utilizing a 305 is a waste imo. go bigger, the 305 will have you wanting a lot more. maybe try gm 846, comp 503
