Default Switching mufflers on true duals

Hi guys. I got a quick question. I have longtubes and true duals run on my 94 formula. Its got the moroso spiral flows on it with no cross over pipe. they tuck up very nicely but i mashed one of them at a gas station and now it sounds like a straight pipe. Ive got to replace one of the mufflers anyways, and was wondering if i switch to the 10 series flowmasters with an H pipe if it will be a little quieter and smooth sounding. The spiral flows sort of remind me of my old pickup truck, and want something a little smoother at low RPMs, but still loud as hell WOT.

I run the Edelbrock SDT 304s in 3" on my TDs and they are the nicest sounding muffler I've heard...They aren't too loud, but sound great at WOT...The other nice thing is that they are only 3 5/8" thick in the 3" version...I don't have a sound clip, so you'll have to take my word on this...They also flow very well as there are guys in the 8's and 9's around here using them, too...

by using an X pipe the sound will get tamed down quite a bit.i would not even think about an H pipe.

Thanks guys. i like the old flowmaster tone of the forty series but they aint gonna fit. i think im gonna try the 10 series or the edelbrocks, but i gotta do some measuring cause my mufflers are not where most people put them. Why shouldnt i use an h-pipe? i heard they are better than nothing and will only cost me about 10 dollars to put in.

The reason your exhaust setup sounded like an old truck is because you had no cross-over on it. An x-pipe will quiet it down, make it sound better and smoother, and gain power all at the same time.

The H-pipe or X pipe will make it sound more like a race car than a truck.

Could you by chance, get a sound clip, or drive-by of your Edelbrock setup?
