Default Listen to this shi*!

So I'm putting a cam in my LT1 and have decided to put in the Hi-rev LS7 lifters. I hear they will replace the stock ones with no problems..I'm hoping. So I go to a Chevy dealership parts counter and give the guy the GM part number and he tells me they are good in stock...great. He comes back and runs my card for 135.00 and then hands me ( 1 ) lifter. I asked where the other 15 were and he tells me they are sold as individuals. I start lol and he looks at me funny. What's so funny he says? Well they come as 16..not 1. He goes on and on and on about how he's the GM parts guy and no they don't come as a set. Ok then champion so I still owe you another 2025.00 then right? LOL! Needless to say I got my money back cause he wouldn't let me show him online that they were sold as a set nor would he show me the box he took the one out of...which I would think is a sealed box right? *****.

That's pretty funny.

By the way, you will need different pushrods for the LS7 lifters, according to everything I have found.

They told me normal 350 header gaskets would fit the LT1... amazing. Probably the same guy.

And exactly what about the LT1 do you think is so special that gen 1 header gaskets wont fit?

A lot of b-body guys use headers meant for a '70s Camaro.

On the lifters, the overwhelming majority of parts people, are clueless desk jockeys, if you find a good one stay in touch even if he moves to another dealership or the like. They are a rare breed these days and you wont regret knowing a good parts guy.

I just got an LE1 put on my car and I replaced everything on the top of my engine. They were a direct fit.

I don't know what year model they were for but they looked nothing like mine, and the ports were evenly spaced.

That sounds like LS1 gaskets... all the SBCs have the 1-2-1 layout for exhaust ports

Have you ever looked at the port shape of the lt1 gasket. Its not the same as a normal SBC. But the gaskets may work.

The gen 1 gasket will work on an lt1 but the lt1 gasket wont work on the gen 1 heads.

Wow, I think I'd have to ask him if he's joking. The parts guys at our local dealership are cool as hell. I go in there so much they know me by name. They give me a discount on everything I buy there too. Now the service department there sucks ***, but that's another story.
