I have a poly trans mount.....I went old school on the motor and have it chained down. It's an A4, so not sure about your question. I do think I feel more driveline vibes with the poly mt. But I use a 3600 stall and it shifts hard so I need a good hard trans mount. Ripped the stock one right in half. I am very interested in how the LT4 hotcam does for you. Thats what I have planned for mine! Let me know. Thanks Ric

you should be fine with all poly mounts. You will just feel more vibration from the engine and trans.

ya i'll post up some after vids when its all buttoned up Ric,

oh ya- its a 6 speed i was just reading on here that having that solid of a trans mount may put more strain on your bellhousing and crack it, but i am putting poly engine mounts also.. so....

Curious also as I will be pulling my motor out. Either the motor mounts or trans mount is wore out, I can see my shifter stick vibrating around when I give it some gas in neutral, its shaky when driving down the road also.

I have poly motor and trans mounts, car is an A4. No reason you should have any kind of issues other than feeling a little more vibration. It's only a little though.

ive heard if you are going to have one you should have the other and that shifting of the bellhousing comes from doing one and not the other.makes sense if you think about it

@!$#%@# IM SOO frustrated with this, okay so getting them on was no big deal because my car is all apart already but i've only got the passenger side half done... ok my question is SHOULDN'T THE POLY MOUNT be TIGHT in between the clamshells?? I bought energy suspension ones from Autozone, and right now i have everything on but the poly does not seem tight in between the clamshells, if anything it seems really loose like the stock rubber was tighter.. WTF!!!!!!!!!

poly mounts are fine, you'll break bellhousings when you use solid steel on 1 and something other than solid on the other...any combination of poly/rubber or all poly/all rubber is fine, just dont mix something that gives with a steel mount

ya i know man, but i have a new problem if you look at my last 2 posts

the poly mounts i bought are loose in between the clamshells, im worried that when i install them the engine is going to move even more than before, it's weird they're energy suspension and i know there's supposed to be some sort of clamping going on there in between the clamshells but mine has nothing. it actually wiggles in the clamshell even if the clamshells are compressed all the way. so WTF its really frustrating.

I've decided im ditching these POS energy suspension junkers, what a joke of a polyurethane mount.

What brand should i go with guys? I was looking at prothane from Jeg's $72.99 for both engine mounts and tranny mount what do you think?

I bought some Prothane motor mounts and they work great, you may have to do a little bit of grinding to get the clamshell completely together but they fit perfect.
