headers,
catback/exhaust
port and polish intake/heads
camshaft and roller rockers
suspension
if your car is an automatic a higher stall
a tune
gears
free mods
nitrous
but the most common is just all the bolt-ons, and i know i forgot some, some other people will chime in on it, but you should read the stickys and try the search.

Get a tune, and put in some SVO 24# injectors (unless you plan to mod more later, get some bigger ones). Just that alone will wake the car up. Before I tuned mine, I noticed a very nice throttle response change with the injectors. And so you know, stock, 93 cam with 22# injectors 94-97 got 24#. SVO's are just better (even though it's FORD).

gears are a great mod for a stock or modified car, however a higher gear will put more strain on your rear end....

A quality converter (3200 to 3600) and 3.73 gears.

Fixed That's some damn low miles on her, nice find.

Gears are nice, and cheap if you just want a small bump from 3.23 to 3.42, since M6 cars came with 3.42s.

97 badass said it pretty well. I would start with doing the typical free mods, then get some long tubes and a nice catback system. Then some 3:73s. Right there should easily drop your 1/4 about .5-.7 sec. It all depends how much money you have to spend. The list could be endless. What's your budget?

I am willing to spend around 1000, what would be the best catback system to get? I am looking at a magnaflow right now.

People tell me that the rear end in the car is not heavy enough for 3:73, I will only end up tearing it up.???

SAME rear end as all the rest, just a different carrier. You have a 2 Series carrier, and the 3.23 and higher are 3 Series. So 1 of 2 things you can do: Get gears for a 2 Series, or buy a 3 Series carrier and gears. A pull from an M6 rear will work perfect since it'll be 3.42s + the carrier. Then if you plan on going to 3.73 or even 4.10s later, you can much easier. If they weren't implying that your rear being a 2.73 is the cause of weakness, then still your rear will handle 3.73s just fine. Hell, it'll handle 4.56s if you REALLY wanted lol A weeee bit too steep though. Since you have an automatic, don't worry about breaking your rear end till you build a high performance motor, add slicks, and maybe some NOS

I've always liked the SLP Loudmouth. It's nice and loud! But if you get LT headers and !cats, then it might be too raspy and magnaflow would be a good alternative.

I think on a $1000 budget I would start off with LTs, Catback, gears, and a tune. Some DRs would also help out a lot if you have anything left over.
