Default Power differences?

What made stock LT1s from different cars have different power ratings? Is it simple things like intake and exhaust set ups? Or was it something to do with the PCM tune? Or was there different engine specs? Thanks!

So it's not worth spending the time looking for a higher hp stock engine if I was going to rebuild it anyway right?

No not atall.

The Vette motors can actually be argued against. If 4-bolt mains are needed then you want aftermarket caps so you might as well go splayed better to start with a 2-bolt block.
The LT4s were the highest rated BUT that was in the heads and cam and they are NOT that great a place to start.

There was only one block casting.

Oh wow! If its that high I should be safe for a long time! I will still do it anyway just for the heck of it. I was planing to dump a ton into my short block and build the top end and do power adders as cash allows.
