Default 1.6 roller rockers

would i see a gain bolting in a set of self aligning 1.6.1 roller rockers in a complete bolt-on 96 Trans Am with a newly built 355 LT1? I plan on eventually going to a a LE2 or LE3 package. I was just wondering if i would see any gain in putting this on a stock cam? I do have bigger aftermarket polished valve covers from ebay on it right know for clearance.

Yes, why not. Maybe 10-15 hp. Adds a slight lift on the stock cam. One of my first bolt-ons back when the car was new.

No, the stock ones will clear w/ no issues.^

no but you do need to do springs while your at it...and if your going to later do heads id reccomend going with nsa rockers...which means youll need guideplates...no need to skimp and use stock studs so arp 7/16 should go on..and while your at it pushrods...thats only if you wanna do it the right way though

Better go ahead and get some new lifters along with all that too.

You'd better just go with some 1.7's for a little extra lift/power. You've got bigger valve covers, with more clearance. So, you shouldn't have to worry too much about hitting.
