belt flew off again
last night i pulled into a parking lot after a light shower and kicked a shitty lost power steering. i knew right away i'd thrown the belt off got out threw it in the car and wrestled my steering wheel to the nearest socket wrench i put it back on in the rain. the socket wrench is now part of my glove box accessories. my 97z did the same thing when i cut donuts and this was the first one i've cut in this car when i bought the car i but a new gatorback belt on it. is there a solution to this problem?

Only time I ever had an LT1 throw a belt was when I put the wagon windows deep in a snowbank, that was a very differnt problem than this.
If you have had two different cars do it I think it is something YOU are causing,. If it was just one car I could attribute it too some mechanical defect.

thanks. man throwing the belt off had a snowball effect. put the belt back on but while i was moving stuff around under the hood in the dark i got one of the heater hoses up against the alternator and it put a nice hole in it. car overheated antifreeze everywhere under the hood. replaced the hose. which wouldnt have cost that much but i ended up spending an additional $60 in advance auto parts while waiting around. armor all, tire shine, seafoam, wash n wax, spark plug gapper, magnet on a stick. they need to keep that stuff away from the register. anyway after i got to driving it for awhile i noticed under acc. it bogged down waited untill dark and looked under the hood now i have 3 bad spark plug wires i think it was because of all the antifreeze spraying everything. PITA.
