I could never justify buying a bike for better mpg's. I'd rather put that money toward the Z

Everyone in here that thinks gas is ever going to go back down is in for a big disappointment.

Have no fear though, our beloved government issued a 35 mpg mandate!! Who's ready to pay the bloated sticker price instead of the gas station!?! Im not.

If we had our heads on straight we would be mandating alternative fuel. I cant wait for a 500hp Volt SS

..but im sure the tree huggers would find a problem with that too. I will keep paying to play as long as i can afford it.

What I'm saying is, after gas shoots up $4+ per gallon this summer, it will go back down some. Not back to where it is now, but I don't believe it will stay that high and keep rising.

Like when hurricane Katrina struck, gas prices in my area went from like $2.20/gal to $3.09/gal. Then when everyone settled down the price went back down to around $2.50. And of course it has slowly risen since then.

I'm banking on everyone buying those 35mpg + er's tho, maybe that will drive demand done a touch along with gas prices. I guess we'll see what happens, but i think I'll still stick with my 340hp + 25mpg car and sacrifice some mpgs' I think its awesome what a difference EFI and the T56 make. Tell an old hotrodder you have a cammed smallblock that gets 25mpg hwy and you'd have trouble convincing them.

Dude I haven't seen a dollar menu in almostr 5 months. Hawaii doesn't have one. Oh and SoCal is the only place more expensive than out here. I pay 3.70 on base and it is just a shade under 4.00 at some place around the island. Guess that is one plus, I can't drive more than 40-45 miles in either way.

Oh heres a good question: Whos is paying more per gallon than there rear gear ratio? lol

Alcohol my friends. They're finding more and more ways to produce it and make it a viable alternative. How badass would it be to pull up to the pump and see 100+ octane alcohol for sale? Imagine the compression you could run with that ish! Dunno bout you guys, but I'd be looking to convert ASAP if they can get it out to more stations.

do you mean ethanol??? E85 is 105 octane and it is ALREADY at pumps. E100 would be even higher octane if they produced it.

it doesnt matter if oil drops to $1 a barrell gas will never drop why would they drop gas prices when they've already proved that we will pay what were paying now. just bend over and grab those ankles.

Here's an idea we'll all get together with our local f body clubs, pick the highest price gas station, and do a sit-in with our cars. We'll all drive up to the pumps. park and not move until they decide to sell us gas for way cheaper. do that to a few gas stations across town at teh same time with 50 guys and their F bodies. that'd be bad ***.

HOWS THAT SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!
