Yepper... Paid a little over $6.00 per gallon for turbo blue not long ago. It smells so nice. Providing all gas will smell as good as turbo blue I could justify the extra cost, but the sad truth is turbo blue will cost $14-18 per gallon if regular is up to $7-$10.00.

Alternative fuel is the way to go, but everyone who makes progress gets whacked. Some how getting whacked does not sound like the kind of reward one works hard to get. Take this guy for example, he got wacked just after he figured out how to make a kit for cars to run on JUST WATER!

WATER2FUEL CONVERSION KIT FOR ALL ENGINES

Keep in mind the guy in that video is dead.

Yes it is. Hydrogen is combustible. He is producing hydrogen by splitting water molecules within that chamber that is filled with hollow rods wired up to an unspecified current then he harnesses it and pumps it into an engine. The hydrogen (combustible power) that is produced from the small electrical stimulation far exceeds the amount of power it requires to split the water and produce the hydrogen. I did not see anything that said just how many volts was needed to start the reaction, however if he got it to work once it could easily be refined just as the automobile has been.

When you click on the link the best video is off to the right. The first one just shows the news report of the car, but the second one shows how it all works.

Personally, I think it's kind of rediculous for people with performance cars to complain about gas prices. If you're that hurting then get a car with better mileage. No one is making you drive your performance car. It's just like the soccer moms at the pumps complaing that it costs $100 to fill their freaking giant SUV's. No one is making them drive those things.

It has nothing to do with what you drive, $4 a gallon is still $4 a gallon. Why we are complaining is because we all know that we are taking in the rump at the pump for no good reason, its criminal!!! I remember not even 8yrs ago 93 octane was $1.35 a gallon in my area, and as of today its $3.60. Oil companies are some of most crooked and powerful people on the planet, and they have tremendous influence on what automakers build and do not build in terms of alternate energy cars. That is why we will not see alternate energy cars really brought to the market on a large scale, just enough to make it look like they are trying, to keep the tree huggers quiet!!

I agree with ya, but it won't matter what the oil companies want in a few months. The government is now imposing new standards on all of the auto makers. I'm sure most everyone know about the CAFE in 2020? that all vehicles including lightweight trucks must get 35 mpg. I'm also fairly sure that the cafe standard is 30 mpg within something of 5 years? Aside from the that the new presidential candidates are all pushing alternate fuel, Obama is supposedly planning to open more e85 pumps across the US according to his website anyway..

$4 a gallon might be $4 a gallon, but you don't have to use as much as you do. If it's that big a deal then buy a car that uses less gas.

That is not a solution to the high gas prices, because even if my car got 30 miles a gallon, The way gas prices are rising even a car with 30 miles a gallon will be paying $5-$8 a gallon in a few years. So it will not be cheap to fill that car up either. I hear what you are saying tho.

dude you're missing the point of this thread completely. we are NOT bitching about gas mileage are we? nope. we are discussing the price of GAS. i could be driving a blown 572 or a 1.1L honda. gas is still insane and thats what we're talking about.

maybe we should all just ride little electric scooters everywhere?
whats crazy is diesel prices!!! thats NUCKIN FUTS!!! $4.07 9 for diesel its just absolutely crazy and a rip off!

not too long ago diesel was sooo much cheaper then gas then everybody n their mom decided to start driving big trucks (full size and super dutys) my parents drive a freightliner they are constantly telling me how much fuel is places...Idaho is the biggest rip off on fuel because we have a HUGE pipeline here and its still higher here than it is most of the other places...not to mention also that the 2 gas stations in town are owned by the same guy, so no competition...and in the winter you have to use additives to it because the ****ing ***** waters it down...so many people here break down in the winter because of this crooks fuel...also he used to be flat *** broke....took a loan n built the gas stations...now hes loaded! small towns + gas = EVERYBODY in town looking for lube! we dont even have a damn grocery store anymore! so theres none of that either. and speed density has probably been through here and can vouch that this is a small rip off pos town!

The ultimate amount that you spend is due to a combination of the price of gas and the amount that you use. Get a car that uses less and you'll spend less money in the end. If you can afford it then you shouldn't bitch. If you can't and are driving a car that gets shitty mileage then get something that's better on gas or quit bitching. I've said my piece so I'm done with the thread.

i don't see how intentionally watering down the gas would benefit him ?

How many gallons of gas would you have to buy to offset the cost of a second car? Keep in mind you still have to pay insurance and maintanence costs. Not to mention if you have two cars you are ultimately consuming the same or more fuel than you would with one.

EXACTLY.. I never saw the point of buying a second vehicle to save a few dollars a week in gas? think about it.. you buy a pos 4 cylinder beater for 1500 or so, have to keep it running, (parts, insurance, routine maintenance ETC....) All ads up,..... HOW are you saving by buying a car that gets 7 mpg more? my Z gets 27hwy and 18-19 city. the typical 4 banger gets what.. 24 city maybe 30-32 hwy.. or so. Unless you're a Green freak or your car is strictly a weekend warrior I don't see the point in spending thousands of dollars on a second vehicle to save a few pennies in gas...

For some of us, there might be more than one reason. We want a daily driver that
"takes away the mileage that would be put on the Camaro". I rotate my cars/bike.

Another reason might be that some folks drive quite a ways to the office and back.
Personally, I put on 60 miles round trip. Other might drive more, many less. If you
think 60 miles round trip every day, 5 days a week doesnt add up at the pumps,
then you might want to re-think your math.

And another reason would be breakage or work. If the Camaro breaks down or
we want to do some mods, those that have another vehicle have nothing to sweat
about to get to the office and back.

Insurance and repair costs are significantly different between a four-door
economy car and a 2-door sports car.

But I understand your point - why purchase a second car for economy when you
may be spending more in "hidden costs". For me, it is partly economy, partly
about rotating vehicles to reduce mileage among them, and also to have something
else to use when one of them breaks.
