Yeah, I don't buy it. Either it's cammed or the timing at the track was messed up. With a 2.4 60' and that time that's like saying with a perfect launch you'd see 12s. No way. I don't care how much of a freak it is.

with the DA that Dwayne showed i believe the ET is factual!
i totally blew the tires away on a pass
2.527 60'
14.50 (2400'DA)
99.97 mph
thought i had better traction than i really did!
normal passes are 1.98-2.00 60' for me,6spd

With a DA of -1400+, it is doable, that is incredable air, i raced at a track that DA was around 2600 most of the time, during the winter it got much better, i ran one night with DA around 1200 & picked up around .3 & 2-3 MPH, the best night we had was DA sitting at 900, i didn't run that night, but others were brakeing records & parts (untill the dew set in & track fell apart), once you drop below sea level in the air, there is no tellin what you could run, so if just say he ran that car in 2600 DA, it would have most likely never seen 13s & only trapped just over 100 or so MPH with the same 60fts, that would tell me its close too stock, i just ran mine today for the 1st. time, i had traction issues, with a sucky 2.599 60ft. & shoft shifting at 53-5500, it went 14.5s at 97 MPH & these cars are new too me, the elevation at this track is 14-1500ft., i'm sure DA was around 2000+ range.

Yeah, when you spin out of the gate, your mph does go up. With some hook, that car could see low 13s, possibly high 12s. And yes, I'm sure the DA played a good role in the times/mph as well.
But, it doesn't take a miracle to break into the 12s with an LT1 though. There's a guy on the board here who is running 13.0s and the LT1 has not been touched. Alot of suspension work, a 6 speed, and exhaust. Leaving very hard and shifting the **** out of it. That same car will be in the 12s this year with an untouched LT1. Believe it or not.
Like the title of the the thread, alot of people underestimate the ole LT1. You just have to utilize the performance. An LT1 peaks torque at 3000 rpms. So get a stall, some gear, and a sticky tire and watch how phenominal the gains will be.

With my old cam only setup I ran 13.2 at 101mph with a good hook 102-3mph is capable of a 12.9.
With the current setup I have run 12.7 at 109 on the street tires with the tools and slicks in the trunk.

I do not think you have a good grasp of the relationship of mph/ET/DA and such.

As said spinning can make mph come up some even though it hurts ET.

u had to be there that night it was about 36 and cecil is at almost sea level , i ran a cammed ls2 gto and we both went 111, i dought my car will ever do that again , on short street tires it hit the revlimiter at about 1100' mark which it usually does right at the stripe

I do actually. I just didn't pay much attention to the DA.

No my car is purple with a red hood and im only 5'9". Lol.

It really didnt spin bad it spun first and really grabbed thru the rest. Idk what the weight is but full dressed with tools and clothes inside. Somethings wrong in the rear of the car. LCA, Torque arm, etc casue when i took off something cracked. I wanted to run again and see if i could net anything better but i wasnt aobut to break it 1.5 hours from home. I wanna change a few things and get a few things fixed and take it back soon.

I am literally sitting here LOL at all these guys saying a LT1 can't run 12's stock. I have seen MANY of them go 12.8-12.9 in full street trim nothing else touched. The DA DOES have alot to do with it and Gainesville just happens to be a fast track. There are so many variables that a car can face you cannot pinpoint or say that one can or one can't just because the norm is different. Take anyone of your cars for example and replace the driver I bet the times change

Those mods are worth Maybe 10whp at the most. I dont know how much the DA really effects the car, But Im guessing that night the motor was making around 355hp. Damn thats some good air!!!! As far as Lt1's running 12's stock good air or not, I think well all agree Its just not possible. Maybe if you had a super freak 96 SLP SS with a Ridiculous DA. Then maybe.
