Default I underestimated the Lt1

Took the 97 to Cecil tonite just to get a baseline on what it would do and it did a 13.578 at 107.71 with a 2.403 60 i must say im impressed with the car. Gutted cats, 80 series flowmaster, bbk twin 58, eblow and granitelli maf no air cleaner. Im happy with the ol LT1.

Congrats! The LT1 may not be as refined as a LS1, but honestly, it is still good ole brute.

Get a freer flowing muffler, maybe some headers, and a tune. You'll really be surprised!

I agree with this.I have 585 fwhp and I use the stock maf and it is not maxed.

I also think that you have enough mph if you get some decent tires and can launch it well you can hit a 12 easy

He doesn't have anything done to it, you really think with some DRs he can make 12s? o_0

White, does this mean there won't be a LS1 transplant into it?

With your 60ft and your mods, that time seems a little wierd.

I agree with ^. The MPH seems pretty high when your mods are pretty much usless for a stock motor. Your MPH seems more like a Hot Cam car.

Is this a 6sp or auto, i agree, that car is movin for being almost stock, gives me hope for my 97 6sp., i will find out tomorrow what it runs, i was told maybe 13s on street tires, but the way it feels, i'm sure it'll go 13s, if that MPH is right, thats a 12 second car easy.

If this is truely all thats done to it without headers/cam or gears, thats smokin.

I have ran a 13.6 there at 106 with just a flowmaster muffler welded in place. That is a fast track with good air.

According to one source I have the DA was -1431, you still did well MPH was but you have to understand that great weather was a definet part of it like probably .2 worth. I am not saying this to discourage but rather so you understand why it is slower next time you go back.

I would echo the comments on get rid of the POS MAF.

I used to run 12`s @105 mph whay cant he do it with 107?
all he has to do is wait another 10 years for the next time the d/a is -1500 ft

#'s do appear to be a little odd, a 2.4 60ft should spell doom for the run.

I would agree hence the title. This car is a "good one". Its a 6spd w/ the stock 3.42's everything. The track had more bite then i thought the fulda tires still wouldnt take. I was really surprised with the mph and even the time to be honest i expected 14's. I just might keep the Lt1.

well the 2.4 60' could add to the mph, but still to run that time is impressive.
