I agree with 96caprice, the ported stockers are the way to go instead of dropping 1-2k for the heads and then another 1500-2k for the porting, just doesnt makes any sense. I was going to go that way but the pricing was ridiculous after all was said and done so I decided to go with the stockers ported.
I thought most people were sending them the trickflows thats what I ment anyway
should have put it in there and not expect people to read my mind

I believe he modified the block himself.
Consider the weight, is also a hydraulic roller and went 9.6 with a 1.5 short time, If I had to guess it has probably gone a little quicker he is just delaying posting it because he expects it to run 8s once he gets it(drivetrain) to hold together and hook.
Is a modified LT1 intake too and just 15psi on PUMP GAS. Maybe not the fastest car out there but impressive for all the "handicaps" he places on himself.

Dave J, AI is a Trickflow dealer, buying the Trickflows elsewhere and shipping to them would be a big waste of at least the shipping money.

Go aftermarket if you gonna do a nice motor.. someone mentioned 215RR's.. If you got the coin, no other afr head will touch that one as far as performance.. but your gonna pay out your booty hole for it...

Here we go with orpples again! That means apples and oranges. The only way to see what heads work the best is to put alll of them on the same car. For instance I have lt4 heads done locally in the Tampa area but I rushed and never did my intake, so if a guy with a similar setup outruns/dynos me with different heads is it the heads or does he have the intake ported? That's one small example. Combo is everything!

Even when the competitive heads are used on the same car the comparison gets dismissed because people do not like the outcome.

you can't compare two lt4 heads ported by a diff guy on diff car's... no two porters are going to get the same result's.. You need to discuss your goal's, and your setup w/ the head guy.. Not folk's on LS1tech or any other car board for that matter...only time you compare is when your doing a TSP package, or any other package by a shop on the board.. you'll even then still see a hp spread...

Are you saying you simply took the lt4 heads off and put the AFR's on and gained 79 RWHP?

I think the poll is showing just how useless the forums can be. The OP has AFRs and is questioning that decision yet AFRs which are a tiny minority of what is used are doing well in the poll. Betting you have a bunch of kids with stock cars voting based on what they read in magzines.
Local guy with the LT1 casting had his vette done.

Stage 3 port, polish and coat
Hot Cam
Long Tubes on stock exhaust

200 or 215cc Trick flows with atleast a set of pistons. (they will lower compression with stock pistons)

Stock bottom end car? I made the #'s in my sig with an unported intake and the stock waterpump.
I'm dumping all my $$ into getting it ready for some HDPE track days so I doubt I'll get to the drag strip anytime soon.

answer your question?
You were saying how a local shop got over 300cfm out of LT4s and respond with more useless info on an LT1 setup???

Anyone with a clue will tell you dyno and flow numbers are not the measure, the track is.
