"Stock Internals" Build
#184
Wow, this thread is pretty epic. Great stock build, blessed cause, and the "kids" are definately blessed.
I'm gonna be following some of your process when it's time to do my engine bay.
I worked with the youth at my church for years, but I've since moved. I sure wish I had the connections and funds to get a couple of them a race car to build. They'd love it (though most of them are ford or dodge fans).
What part of Honduras did y'all go to?
My church went down the past two years. I didn't get to go with the church, but my dad is from Honduras and we went to visit last summer. His first time back in 24 years. Lots of family for me to meet as well. We stayed in Tela, La Ceiba and another city I can't remember right now.

We made four passes at Shadyside tonight.
We have a few suspension issues that we need to work out, but the car is pretty close.
The best run...
1.588 (60 ft)
4.782
7.429 @ 90.984
The first run off the trailer was a 7.55 and the worst run was a 7.78. The air was around 2300 ft.

Yesterday morning we got together at 9 AM and worked on the suspension. While we were working we discovered a bad pinion bearing and replaced it. When we were done we loaded up and towed to Union County Dragway. We entered the bracket race and managed a runner up finish!
Best time slip...
1.540 (sixty)
4.637
7.308 @ 91.58
We made seven passes in 7.3's!!

Darren,
Nice picture of the runner-up cash. Looking closely at the kids I can see the glazed look that goes along with having the "lifetime hook" deeply set. Let's hope that have as much fun over the years as we've had.

Great job on the runner up.
It has to be a good feeling working with people who have a real passion for the sport and want to move forward. Great project, good job with everything.
I would take the money and get some t-shirts/team shirts done..... and buy the boy some new pants with the holes all in his jeans. Thats went out of style a long time ago.
These guys really have a great chancve at getting some good coverage too with this program, I would take full advantage of that. It could really lead to some positive things in the future.
