So an idea might be to get an airfoil on the throttle body and possibly make something out of fiberglass to slip on the throttle body that resembles a funnel, doesn’t have to be big just have a nice smooth radius…

I will pm you a picture of what I mean if you like…
I'd also like to see a picture of that if possible, and this is with the TB fully opened???

We got it to idle and actually drove around a little yesterday. There are still some driveability issues to be worked out. Tomorrow I will buy a new Accell Pro-Key to replace the one that a buddy never returned. We should be on a dyno sometime this week!

The kids towed their car in the Lattimore 4th of July parade today. Eighteen year old Jason built the trailer. It only lacks fenders and touch-up to be ready. The car runs and drives pretty good. I will try to dyno it and align the front end this week.

Four quarts of Mobil 0-20 synthetic.

On the alignment rack at Carter Chevrolet.


New shoes!


And finally on the dyno at PCM For Less.


We made about ten pulls and ended up with 295 peak HP and 292 lbs of torque. The DA was around 3000 ft.

Next stop, Shadyside tomorrow night!

Thinner oil is easier to pump through the engine, therefore less power lost pumping oil and more to the ground. The lower quantity of oil means less oil to get cought on the crank if its splashing around. Sometimes builders will time it just right so the car starts to suck the pan dry as it crosses the traps.

Very nice numbers. Not sure off the top of my head on the numbers, but whats the drivetrain loss difference in a tiny TH200 compared to the slushbox 4L60/e?

Close to 300rwhp through a stalled auto with a stock LT1 shows that you guys paid attention to every single detail during the rebuild.

Once again, thanks for all the kind comments. The light weight oil and TH-200 are just two of the ways that we are using to go faster. The Th-200 is worth a good tenth vs a TH-350 in Gump. I'm not sure what the gains will be with this motor.
