Programming will give you what you want easily, only other thing is if your car had 2.73 gears you will have to grind a little tab in the console off.

I cant imagine why you would want that, but its pretty easy to do.

Remove the console cover, you will see a little plastic tab that the shifter hits on to prevent it from going into first gear. Cut it off with a knife, and you will have a selectable first gear. Stealth first, I call it.

And then after you cut it out, if you really want to see First, get the cover from a Camaro that shows it

BTW you have a 4L60E, not a 4L60. 93 is the only one that came with the non-electronic.

If you REALLY want manual shifting, get a manual valve body!

Transgo kit helps manual control without having to go full manual.

He's talking about the shifter cover so he can actually SELECT first. He has the one that only goes back to 2nd, so it'll shift out of first no matter what throttle %

I believe it's pretty directly related to the option package of having H rated tires and 110 speed (due to the H rating). But, don't hold me to that

every F-body car,(usually camaros and some Foumulas) usually only get the 150 speedo and a higer speed govner when they have factory Z rated tires, so I do believe it is related to the cars option package, cause I have not seen or heard of a TA or WS6 not having factory Z rated tires. Mine had factory goodies like those I have heard that it is a "safety" thing, due to the Z speed rating being up 149 and higher mph vs H being up to 130mph. Yar, I know all dis Both my 91 and 93 had the uber-speedo thankfully

but what do you do when you blow your tranny like i think i did today
Uh, get it rebuilt? >_> That's what I'm doing, mine's pretty well gone too. 1st and 2nd are pretty good but 3rd and 4th slip pretty bad if I get it too much gas. If I ease into it they'll hold and climb the MPH still, thankfully. Which is all weird since 1-3 and 2-4 share bands, but 1 and 2 are fine and 3 and 4 are bad heh
