The rears appear to be 15x10 with 28" tires. I have run on 15x8's before with slicks and I had a big issue with the rear end walking at the big end of the track. Noticed a night & day difference on 15x10's very very much more stable. I would recommend 15x10, hands down.

Tireburnin: I looked all over the place, and I can't find my slips from that day . My friend does the filming, and takes the weather data, and holds on to the slips. I have the vid, and the weather data, but no slips. If I find them I will post them up.

SS RRR: O Holy P is right, I run a 28 x 10 Hoosier slick on 15 x 10 rims. I never used anything other than what I have on there, so I don't know how it would be different. O Holy P sounds like he has some experience with it though.

O Holy P: If the 10" is more stable than the 8", then I don't even want to think about running with an 8". Hell, when I run less than 10 psi, the car is all over the track most of the time anyway. Multiply that by getting out of the groove, and you have 1 scary ride.

Thanks for the info. What size slicks were you running w/ the 15X8 wheel?

They were MT ET Drags on stock 16" salad shooters they were 26x9's...with 12psi and around 70+ going down the track it felt like the *** end was riding on jello.

Gotcha. I've backed out of the deal and will be looking for some 15X10's. Just not sure if I'm going to go w/ a 27 or 28" tire. I've only ever dabbled w/ 16" wheels and ET Streets and DR's... I'm probably going to go w/ a 10.5" Drag. Any BFH beating required on the inner fenders?

I dunno what to do.
I'll be selling my 15x8 to step up to a 15x10, 7.5" BS. The ride is just too unstable for my liking at the top end.

Not for me, but I have a narrowed 9" rear end so they stay tucked in pretty good. I did have to grind on the rear calipers for them to clear the 15" Weld wheels. On motor I run 26x10.5 ET Streets, when I get the N20 finished up I will put a 28" slick on it.

flippin sweet.....

Welcome to the all motor 10 second LT1 club...... a small but highly respected list...

AND HOLY GEARS BATMAN! 4.88's!!! No wonder that thing gets out....

I run 3.89's NA and shift at 7200...... but i'm keeping these gears cause i'm feeling they'll get along well with the 400 shot this motor was built for..

that thing is scrait up movin tho...

OutlawZ: Thanks glad you like it. I ran 10's with a 4:10 gear, but I was bogging at the start and shifting into 4th at the 1000', so I thought it would run better with the 4:88. So far it has, but there is more to go. A 400 shot??!! Dude, that's a lot of dynamite. I was thinking of throwing a 100 shot at mine . Your car is definitely cool, I watched your vids. I am sure it will fly. We are an elite few, I am just happy I can be competitive with the bigger and more expensive builds I see around here.

95 Formula: I can't find the slips, but going from memory it was 1.6ish.

96blkform: I have not cruised Lakewood yet this summer with the 96 SS, and now it's at the chassis shop for 3-6 weeks . However, I do have my 01 SS. If you want to go hit the Detroit/ Madison loop send me a PM.

SS RRR: the 28" is the biggest you can go with the stock axle width. My tires clearanced themselves. The 27" would be the best bet if you are concerned with fitment. Also, if you run weld rims you will need a spacer as well as grinding some of the brake caliper. I forgot how thick my spacer is, but you will need it (maybe 3/8").

Pardon the stupidity, but on the rear? If so, are longer studs required?

Like it.... I love it... Uhhhhh not only competitive but you're moving out with barely nothin... LT1 castings, LT1 intake, AC and power steering!?!?!! I'm not going to lie to anybody when they look at my car that it's about 65% race car and 35% street car.... You are definitely running with dogs that have bigger ***** swinging around.... You have alot to be proud of.... I chose my route and my car is running 10.6's because it's setup completely wrong to run on just motor. cam is NOT for NA, gears are not for NA, etc.... i'm happy that it even ran 10.6!

But your car, dayum.... A stick car no less..... Put a 100 shot on that thing and start making a living gambling at the track that your street car can put away half the race cars there on any given night.... great job...

I don't know your track but I say there is 60' left in that car. Your vids show a good bit of spin. I know I've said this before but have you every thought of going over to some M/Ts? I tried them both and got the best results with the m/ts over the hoosers. Like outlaw said..welcome to the LT1 10s NA club. Nice to see other 6 speeders here. Youve already gone faster than my lt1 headed setup went. Mine were only 160CC heads though so I would say you still have ALOT to come with the strong setup you have there.

When you get your 60's fixed, and with that MPH, that thing should run 10.30or so. Congrats.
