Only a stupid person(no shortage of those) would claim 70hp from JUST this cam. 70hp is possible in combination with a bunch of other boltons at the same time but then it is not from the cam only.

a 58mm tb with a little cam like that isn't going to make much of a difference, bigger TBs work well with bigger heads, stroker motors, longtubes, blah blah blah. Get a custom grind cam for your build, hotcams are only about 8 yrs old now, nothing wrong with them but you'll want more and quickly.

some people think that from the factory LS1's are "Scary Fast" what I have been told. If you get the HP Bug then eventually you will want more, some will mod and stay with what they have. People out there tell others to get this, get that but they are not the ones who are paying for it, Some are on a very tight budget and just want a little more performance. Again The LT4 Hot Cam Kit is a good Budget package that makes good power and has a nice noticeable lope to it...

My 93 T/A M6, hotcam, all bolt-ons, 9" and ported stock heads (240 cfm) dynoed 372 RWHP shifting at 6k because the LT4 springs could not handle the power. The Dyno sheet is attached. With new springs the guy that dynoed my car said I should pick up 10 or 15 more RWHP. 385 RWHP is a high 11 second car. A well tuned and set up hotcammed car can flat out run.........

I never had the chance to run the car after the dyno tune and new springs. I sold it to a guy in WV a few months ago.

Thanks man that is actually the info I have been wanting some one to help me with and get. I appreciate it. what supporting mods does she have and is that 1/4 mile and what are the times?

Springs don't have to handle "power" they have to handle and control inertia, which is rpm in this case.

Wow 370+whp with ported stockers? @ 240cfm? Sweet! My darts flow 260cfm out the box. Hopefully I'll be putting down some numbers

Exactly, that's why buying a old school hotcam isn't "all-that" anymore. You can get a custom grind cam for the same price as an off the shelf and have a cam that's specifically tuned for your car, your goals with said car, etc.

I just put in the hotcam this past winter, and i love the little thing, there is deffinitely a noticeable lope, and you DEFF. notice a power gain, i still get good fuel economy (m6) on about 50-50 cty/hwy driving ( its my DD). I'm glad i went with it and haven't noticed any of the acclaimed valve float. Pff.. so its not the biggest cam out there ? w/e idc its a nice cam for street use, and it has never surged. Its going to enable you to outperform most of the cars you come across (assuming full boltons). talking from experience I say go for it man especially since you have that 99 you said is for serious horsepower anyway..

Point being, sometimes good reviews are the product of ignorance rather than a really good setup.
OMG what have I done. I've had those springs in my engine for 6 years now...
