New LT1 Intake Manifold update: New plan, new #s
#21
Have you thought about marketing a SBC version of this? Many people on thirdgen.org would love a product like this especially if it is welded together to seal for boost. I am positive this would sell well to them as well and it would actually cost you next to nothing because the hard work will already be done with the LT1 version and you won't have to machine it for the reverse cooling like you would with the LT1.
I will make a post over there and link them back here.

If it was a uncut that would not be bad if he only had to trim the cowl..this one would be modified so shouldnt need have any fitment problems.

re
had a HSR on my car we cut the cowl to the point the wipers wouldn't both work also had a cowl induction hood so I don;t know how the stock hood would interfere. Talk to tapout911 on cz28 he has my old HSR on his car now he may be able to help with dimensions and what not for a mid 90s F-body It would be sweet to have one clearanced for the stock hood and cowl.

OUCH. There is a fine line on trimming this HSR down. Take too much off the top of runners and you will change the shape of them causing you to have 4 or more different shaped runners messing up flow. Recess the plenum too much over the runners and your taking away plenum volume also hurting flow.
So far I think we have found that happy medium with some excellent machine work from our welder. We also have been playing around with the actual porting of it. 300cfm of flow looks like a possibility. With this kind of porting we will be using, it may put a hault to the need of having to actually cut the runners down (for guys running higher rpm) to the point of screwing up the runner shape.
If anybody has the measurements from the stock intake to the cowl, please let me know. We are still looking for a Lt1 camaro in the Maryland area.

Actually, we dont need anybody to give up their car. We just need them to stop by and let us measure for clearence. Would only take a couple of minutes.

From the PM I got, they just need a car to come in so they can take the measurments right now, it shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Even if your not interested in getting one can you or a friend with an LT1 f-body contact them so they can get the measurements. When I get home tomorrow (I fly every week for work) I will take some measurements and post up what I can, but my hood is modified, so a car with a stock hood would be helpful...
EDIT
well I posted too soon it looks like you responded while I was typing...

The cowl is sort of tapered torwards the rear, it seems to be somewhere around 3" under the plastic part of the cowl, and tapers down to about 2 1/2" in the back......So there may only be something like 2" to work with.
If you can fit it in there, and keep those good gains up top, you have a buyer right here.
