And thanks.

now to the technical...stock for stock (what you both primarily have) the ls will have more topend and the lt more torque on the launch, pretty standard stuff. But if you had DR's like he did it would take advantage of your lt torque and he'd struggle a tad more to catch you on the deep end...1/4mi.

ehh don't get all worked up, most in this particular forum are into the technical discussions and sick of the lt1 vs ls1 bs posts, you would get more results in the street racing thread on this site because you could get more lsxx guys to reply as well and keep it unbiased.

thanks for the thread man goes to show the launch is really a big part of your 1/4.
nice cars too, although im not much of a fan of the fire chickens in the LT1 body style. i like them much better in LS1 form.

I'm modded for a dig race, he'd modded for a roll race.
To me the outcome is pretty damned interesting.
It's more like Supercharger with 15 lbs boost vs. Turbo with 10-12 lbs boost.
Did you even read the mods!?

good thread, post up some vids if you get the chance to race again !

We do a new race everytime one of us does a modification, to see actual results. I'll try to remember next time.
I just don't want to mess up the race with a tagalong camera person. Last time we did that it skewed the race very badly when we switched, kinda leaving us wondering what effect they truly had. (it was a 4 carlength difference!) there had to be another variable in there we missed.

Its an arms race, but neither of you will ever get ahead. You both will keep doing a little something here and a little something there.... Pretty soon your both running LE2 or 3s and spraying or something

and then again your brothers LT1 just might be stronger than yours
i raced one of my buddies with a 97 M6 LT1 with basically the same mods that i do, except he had a 52mm tb vs. mine which is stock
i totally ripped him apart from every speed that we raced from we did 20 rolls and i'd have a car on him and pulling hard by half way through 2nd and when we did 40 rolls i would have a full car on him by the time i got half way through third gear
some run better than others

...what can I say, we all make mistakes, but hey at least I'm man enough to admit my mistake and even join in the conversation, no need to make a personal attack

agreed...then about 3 yrs down the road you'll both have strokers, 12 bolts, mini-tubbed with ET Streets looking for some feeder to "see who's faster" ...been there done that, the good old days. But we got to the point where low 11's and high 10's on a street driven car needed to be kept on the track ...so we did just that.
