It makes the SES flash if you jump the right 2 pins. Example: Flash-Flash pause Flash-Flash-Flash-Flash would be code 24 (example, no idea if there is a code 24).

Yes, the SES more than likely holds the key

I understand that.

But what im saying is will any OBD1 scanner from checker or autozone work?

Or is it something fancy? lol

And yes hopefully it does. I want it to pass so I can ditch this lame exhaust with cats ha ha

Yours might have the OBD2 connector, and yet be an OBD1 car, and I think that's a problem for some scanners. Advanced, Checker and I think AutoZone as well (I know the first 2 do, I worked at Checker) can scan them.

See, I'm wondering if it's incompetence on their part.

Do you have an ODB2 connector?
Yes? -Are they testing it as OBD2?
No? -Are there scanners capable of OBD1?

If yes: Tell them to test it as OBD1
If they can't: Take it to a shop, usually they'll test free to get you in the door.

If no: See "If they can't"

My scanner that I have, was the same one we used at Checker 4 years ago, and I can swap plug ins and specify if I'm testing OBD1 or 2, even if I have an OBD2 connector on it. I also have real-time readings of sensors and other stuff the E/PCM is seeing

Can ya stop by a dealership? They do it for free if you just walk in and ask most the time.

Im gonna try shbox's method with a OBD1 scanner and jumping the wires and see where that gets me. If not that I guess I will have to go somewhere to have it scanned.

Well I didn't know that 94 and 95 didn't flash haha Learn something every day

I assume this is the method you're attempting (in the Note portion)

I got the PCM scanned to day and I have the following codes being thrown..

23: IAT sesnor, Low temperature indicated
26: EVAP Purge Control Circuit Fault
37: TCC brake switch errorm TCC Brake switch stuck on
51: Faulty or incorrect PROM/EPROM

37 could be caused by the B&M Shift+ thing module I have.

26 states its a wiring error

23 I dont even know how I could have low temp indicated when I dont even have a CAI lol

51 could that be my tune??
