Default car falls on its face

I just got done installing my new gm opti and redoing my valves since they were too tight. I took the car out and when i give it gas it sputters alot and i dont get the power i should and when i push it to the floors it barely moves. The check engine light is on and flickers on and off but I haven't had a chance to see what the codes are yet. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

I built a new motor and it sputtered like crap. I crossed the 3 & 7 plug wires. Put them on right and the damn things runs like a raped ape. Check you wires.

Double check all your vacuum lines also... Mine ended up being a bad ground at the ICM.

The flashing light is telling you that you are miss firing really bad. What year is your car? Are you sure you indexed the opti right?

I checked the wires, their all correct, I forgot to mention that the car idles great and fires up almost as soon as i turn the key. I changed the ICM no difference at all, I upped my fuel pressure since it was turned down before but, all it did was give me a better idle. While driving the car does pop and backfire a little.

ok well I let the car sit for a few days after upping the fuel pressure since it was turned down, i finally put the exhaust pipes on, and i took the car out again, it started to do the same thing when i got on it so i slowly brought the rpms up past 3k. I went down the street turned around and gave it 3/4 throttle. Next thing I know the car takes off out of nowhere and went past 3k. I did a few more laps up and down the street while getting on it and everytime it took off. I'm so confused now lol. I'm starting to feel I built the new "christine"

It still has a studder at lower rpm and wont go about 5500, but it does run even better since I unplugged the MAF. But I will say for being my first 4th gen I'm extremely happy with the handling. Due to some kids in a 350Z(even though i too am 17) they tried to screw around and because of them my car ended up over a lane and the *** end sliding into the shoulder at 60mph, I some how regained control immediatly. I'm leaning on good weight distribution since I have bald tires.

I agree, the only time my ses light ever blinked is when i hac a bad miss... If your car is having the same issue, you should notice a fair amount of vibration to acompany the lack of power. From the brief description, that is my best guess.
