a shop gave me a price range of 4-5000 for engine/trans.
Anyone know a certified reliable shop in southern california i may be able to ask?
The car is a 1994 z28.

I am aiming for 400-450 rwhp. I want a cam/headers/gmmg exhaust/Heads/K&N Air intake and 3.73's. My car is an A4. Any help is good help. part names/numbers and websites will help.
headers are 800, labor shouldn't be bad since the heads would be off... 200 bux
upto 3800.00 bux and you haven't even bought the gmmg and the gears..
injectors = 200-300 (30# or 36#)
headers = 550 (LPP headers and ory)
pushrods, 1.6 roller rockers, lifters = 650ish (summitracing.com)
opti = 321 (summitracing.com)
plugs/wires = depends on what kind/where you buy
k&n cai = 200ish many websites
You'll want a stall with it 3200 or so yank? (not sure on price i'm not an a4 guy so let others chime in there)
3.73's are good gear to go with as auto.

My 383 ran me about your budget to build with the dart pro heads all hogged out and diamond pistons (I'm spraying her next season). On top of that your going to need a transmission that is built to live through that kind of power, then in a few months/weeks figure on blowing your read end to ****.
Its an expensive hobby. I would say your power goal could be met by just a H/C package if you were an m6, but through an a4 I think you might come a little short, if you plan on still being able to drive it often enough to make it worth it. I suppose you could put a small shot on her and just prove me wrong through
