I would like to get JUST the LS1 steering shaft as it eliminates that god awful, ancient, rag joint! Me and Merv talked a bit about it when he took pics of the LS and LT shafts and I noted how they're the exact same size, except the lack of rag joint.
But glad it all worked out for you!

So I tried using a LS1 steering shaft on my 93 z28 LT1 rack with a LS2 to fix the clearance issue, long tube headers! and the LS1 shaft seems to be keyed different and will make the steering way out of whack! Do I need the LS1 steering rack! I saw someone said LS1 rack and shaft?

You can use just the Shaft, it's actually 90* off of the LT1 Shaft where the bolt holes are if you look at it close, that's why it's off a little. You adjust your Tie Rods for that.
Using both the Rack and Pinion would work the greatest.
Here is a pic..hopefully it works..notice the Angle of where the Linkage bolts to the LS1 Rack compared to the LT1 Rack.

ok so i didnt install LPP headers but i know my pace setters were hitting real bad so all we did was loosen the knuckle up and slide it off and that should allow you to move the elbow around over towards the outside of the engine bay and that should let the header right in.

I helped my co worker install a set of these. too bad the maker of the headers cant move the tube over when he makes them. yes elongate the column mount holes under the dash. if you have a helper it is easier. also make sure steering shaft bolt is loose and have some one pry the shaft over away from headers.
