JK. So I take it this was in the 500 page LPP thread?? Spend 3 hours reading through that one!

Loosen the bolts that hold the steering column inplace slide the column over as far as possible. You might have to enlongate the holes a bit. You should have done this first b4 grinding it down. Most people after moving it over either dont have to grind the linkage or just a tiny bit. Hope this helps

What are you going to buy then? If you havent been reading around here lately a few guys with PS Lts have had the same prob and same with a set of Mac mids(wich are supossed to fit great. I also have read about hookers and jet hots not only having the same prob but also rusting out or the CC flaking at the collectors.
Up to you.... but dont ever expect a perfect install no matter what brand you purchase.
Ive owned these car since 96 and know better than to expect anything to be perfect fit. Way to many variables in production and the cars themselves.

i got it to fit, it was actually pretty simple! i unbolted the 3 bolts that connect the rack to the firewall, then unbolted the 2 bolts that hold the steering wheel/column up (under the dash) i moved the linkage to where it had to be, then dremelled out the holes in the steering shaft plate that attaches to the firewall so i could get the screws to fit. i tightened those down all the way, then put 4 washers on each side of the 2 bolts that hold the steering wheel up so that it would angle the steering rack up a little on the other side, and pushed the steering column to the right and tightened down the 2 bolts. put everything back together and theres NO rubbing! i grinded the **** out of my steering shaft before trying this, so i am planning on replacing it anyway. if anyone has any questions just pm! i probably made sound harder than it actually is

I know this has been solved, but... The LS1 steering shaft definetly opens up a lot of room. I was looking at the one on my Formula when I was deciding how to route my turbo pipes. It's shaped differently and is angled more towards the outside of the car.
