I'm possible going to be selling mine when I get back home.. I see it exploding on a good clutch dump, so I'll try and get my money back for it..

I know it felt way more like a 10-15LB difference but i didnt weigh it. I also saw the other posts about it being a 5-6lb diff. No Way it was that little of a diff it was super noticable. If I had a scale i would have weighed it.

damn thats a huge difference...bfranker has a stock LT1 DS in at 16lbs. and LS1 at 11.5lbs. posted on his website.

I may not be accurate.. but I'll say that the LT1 weighs more than 20lbs easily.

The scale said 12.5 for the Aluminum one, and 32.2 for the Steel one, I weighed them by placing the rear U-joint on the scale and held each one straight up one at a time.

talk about a huge difference then, def not a bad thing.

thats exactly were I got mine spent about 80 bucks!
Not trying to hijack the thread but is the ls1 ds stronger than the lt1 ds ? I think not but what do u guys think?

Hell no.. that steel DS can take a beating, it just vibrates unless you get it balanced.
