Default Need help with which pilot bearing to use (2 Q's)

I actually have a 2 part question...

#1, are all these part #s the same product?

#24506531 - F body pilot bearing (11 bucks or so)
#12557583 - LS2 vette pilot bearing ($17.50)
#14061685 - LS2 GTO pilot bearing - $28 or something like that)

I ordered one of these from TSP (I forgot which one, but I was assured it will fit my car), and I also got a couple held for me at the GM dealership in case and also because Id get it sooner than TSPs shipment (the F body pilot bearing and the GTO pilot bearing was the 2nd one I think)

anyways, my question is, shouldnt these all be the same part? but the prices are way different...

#2 part of my question is...

if they, indeed are different, which one would fit my vehicle??

I have a LS2 402 engine, that is going in a 2002 F body and its mated to a LS7 clutch, with aluminum LS2 flywheel...

(the reason why I dunno is because, Its on a 403, but going to a LS2 flywheel) so I dunno what will fit, if there is any differences...

Lastly, and in th future if I went to another clutch, would the pilot bearing matter??

Thanks in advance

The transmission you plan to use will determine you pilot bearing. If you're using an f-body trans, use an f-body pilot bearing. Heres a thread I posted in a while back. You can see a pic of the one used for an LS2 vette compared to one for an f-body. The flywheel has nothing to do with the pilot bearing for either style.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...825&highlight=

The f-body pilot drives into the crank deeper and has a smaller outside diameter. Whereas the LS2 style actually drives into the area of the crank that would center the pilot of a torque converter on an auto car. It uses a completely sealed bearing which is totally different.

funny thing, part #24506531 (LS1 f body) isnt fitting in my crank, its too small!, but part # 14061685 (LS2 gto) is, if it gets pushed in, its snug... (the inside diameter on both, however is the same) but the LS2 one looks like it has some grooves...

even though Im going with a F body T 56...

But I will put part # 24506531 on my input shaft tomm and see if it fits...

but is this normal??(for it to not fit inside the crankshaft behind the rear cover, where the flywheel mates)

well, Im still waiting for a response..

But in the meanwhile, more information...

Unless I have my part #s mixed up, I recieved my pilot bearing, too from Texas speed and It says 1998-2002 F Body pilot bearing #14061685, which was the one that looked like it was going to fit, already...

So all I can think of is, I mixed my my part #s, because it is the most likeley to fit and on the shipping paper, it says 14061685(1998-2002 f body), so I am going to go ahead and assume this is the correct one...
