Will a T56 mount to a LQ4?

Will a T56 mount to a LQ4?
From my understanding the LQ4 is the exact same block as an LS1 only in iron form. That being true, I would have to assume that a T56 will mount to a LQ4. Please tell me if thats correct?
Upon further research I noticed that there was a limit to what years of camaro or T/A that it would fit....it said 92-2002. Is that because the LS1 wasnt made after 2002 meaning that it would still mount to a later then 2002 LQ4?
Reason being is I found a 2006 LQ4 out of a Cadilac Escalade for 2k so I am curious if it will work?
THANKS, JAMES

Yes, it will work. I'm in the process of gathering parts for a swap myself.
For the 92-97 t56 you'd have to change the input shaft and bellhousing to a LS-patterned bellhousing and input shaft. Hope that helps.

splain plz
Explain this in more depth please. ^^^ So what you're saying is that an earlier lq4 wont take a standard flywheel for a t56 swap? what is the first year with the thinner flange on the crank, allowing for the swap to be done?

The '99-'00 LQ4 had a thick flange on the crankshaft. It will only mate up with a 4l80e or a th350/400. Starting in '01, the LQ4 got the standard crank flange with an adapter flexplate to mate it to the 4l80e. Long story short, you want a '01+ to stick a t56 or 4l60e behind it.

Anyone have any experience mating these LQ4's to T56's?. I bought an 03 LQ4 and an 02 T56 and noticed the imput shaft on the T56 is a lot smaller than the hole in the rear of the crank. Any help or guidance would be great. Please feel free to email me as well. Thanks!.

I just put a T56/LS7 Clutch Assembly on the back of a 4.8l in a friends Truck, went in like a charm.
I didn't mention it but my T56 bolted to the back of my LQ4 Block without any issues.

Another LQ4 T56 Question....
When going from a 03 LQ4 with a 4L80e to an 02 T56. Can anyone tell me if LS1/T56 engines flexplates utilize a flexplate/crank spacer at all?. If so is it the same thickness as the LQ4?. Noticed bolts from original LQ4 are a bit short. So either I need shorter bolts and remove the spacer to mount LS1 flexplate on crank directly or get longer LS1 style bolts?. Any experienced advise would be muchly appreciated and thanks in advance!.

So just bolt on the LS1 flywheel directly to the crankshaft and use thick washers for the too long LQ4 bolts or should I get shorter original LS1 flywheel bolts to replace?. If happen to have part no#'s for LS1 flywheel bolts please do inform and thanks a lot for assitance!!!.
