transmission mount ?
just did a clutch swap, put a tick stage 2 t56 in, when we pulled the trans the transmission mount came out in 2 peices. I havnt been to the dealership yet to check out the stock one but I can find polyurethane mounts on a few sponsers sites. My question is, I rember reading that if you have a poly tranny mount with the stock rubber engine mounts, the transmission doesnt move as much as the motor and can cause damage. How true is that and should I be worried?

Yeah, Im not sure, I tried searching I didnt see much, maybe I didnt enter the right words. Im also pretty sure the dealer ship will charge a good chunk of change compared to the new Poly one.

From my experience , typically the polyurethane mount will allow a little more vibration felt in the drivetrain but thats about it . I would also suggest upgrading the torque arm bushing mount while you are there . Both are available through Energy Suspension .

as far as vibration issues with the poly mount, is due to the fact that they generally are taller then the stock mount, and this difference throws the driveshaft angle out. easy way to correct this is by making spacers that go under the trans cross member(where it mounts to the chassis) that are the same thickness as the difference between the stock mount and the poly one. meaning take your stock mount and new mount and place them side by side on a level surface. measure the difference in height. that gives you the amount you should shim the trans crossmember. i've done this mod for several cars and solves the issue every time.
