Go Cartek and never look back, Mine is smooth on the street(obviously not as smooth as stock, but show me a clutch that takes abuse like this thing does that is) Once on the track you can beat it and it begs for more, it seems as the hotter it gets the better it grips on the strip. Any other questions just shoot me a PM

Tell me more about the Cartek...
Ive never heard too much good about RAM.. As far as im concerned its a mix between SPEC and McLeod.. McLeod priced and SPEC issues.(at least thats the impression ive had, from reading posts)...

Been running a Spec 3+ for several years now. Before that a Spec 3. I would agree with everything BarneyMobile has said. Mine has had zero chatter since break-in.

I would expect to see bad reviews on anything that's not new. It takes a lot to get a clutch to work consistently for a DD/weekend warrior with more than 400 RWHP. On top of that, many people install their own. Some of 'em do it right and some of 'em don't. Most people with these types of clutches race their cars. With all of the variables, there will be bad reviews for everything if they are used enough.
Pick one with mostly good reviews, that supports your requirements and has a reputation for good customer service. Probably the best you can do.

Wow, honestly since you dislike ram so much, which I guess you have to pay abit more to get a good clutch there. The VDS series is what I was reffering too, but they are indeed pricy. These Monster units sound damn good!! From what i can find/read they are a very nice clutch! And if they live up to there promises, you simply cant beat them for price!

I have taken risks before, by getting parts that some people praise and some absolutely hate, but this time, for my clutch, Id like something proven, because My car has been unraced for 14+ months and Im getting very anxious to race it already... I just wanna get something, and finish it already..
I may just go with a SPEC 3+ already and see for myself, but like I mentioned, Id really rather not take the risk, but it seems like its the only affordable, decent clutch at the moment..
However, Im still gonna look into the monster and Cartek
So tell me about the RAM ( I dont dislike it, but I thought Ive read almost as much bas stiff about RAM, as I have for SPEC, unless Im mistaken)

I have had my cartek for 9K drive it on the street and at the track. I can daily drive it, and then take it to the track and do 6000rpm launches on 26-11.50 hosiers and it begs for more.
I know a few people that have them, one guy got 40k miles out of his daily driving and shooting 150 shot at the track that put him in the 10's He put a new one in when his trans gave up just as a precaution. He sold the old 40k mi clutch to a friend of ours who ran it for 10k before it finally gave it up after hundreds of track passes and over 50k total miles
4 of them that I know DD thier cars and track them on the weekends
Its got a fairly smooth engagement, and when it grips it grips. Never had any bit of slip out of mine. I will be buying another one when the one I have gives out.
