Umm, the stock Hurst shifter sucks, and my choice wasn't on there. Personally, as much as a I hate SLP, I got their short throw for $99 and the LSS, and it friggin rocks!

I have the stock Hurst with LSS and I love. Short quick shifts.....that would get my vote.

i had the hurst LSS combo for a while. the only downside is that there aren't any stoppers in the shifter. it is so easy wiht these trasnmissions to overshift, and bend a shift fork. trust me, if it hasn't happened yet, it will. get a Pro 5.0 or a ripper

I thought the T-56 had internal stops? I went ahead and voted for Ripper, but I hear the Pro 5.0 w/ LSS is the way to go. - Pat

I've seen countless posts here and on ls1.com indicating that our trannies have internal stops.

i had the pro 5.0 with the handle chopped 1" and i switched back to my stock hurst with the short stick. the 5.0 was a very solid piece, but it had little to no spring return and it was pretty f-ing noisy. i'm just as happy with what i've got now. .02

Here is my impressions from the cars I drove.
Stock shifter--plainly sucks!!! Changed mine within 10 miles of buying the car.
Stock Hurst-OK but mushy.
Stock Hurst withe LOU's- Alot better than stock Hurst, very close to PRO 5.0.
B+M-- Hate it,Handle too long and no return springs, very easy to miss gears..Solid feeling though.
PRO 5.0-My favorite, cut 1 1/2 inches off the handle.spring return is strong helping 2-3 shifts.

Shifter stops-Yes the tranny has internal stops but they can wear.I personally don't trust them and set the shifter stops to help.Of course when I drive at the track I kill the shifter.

i have had nothing but good shifting out of my b&m, but if the pro 5.0 has return springs to go from 2nd to 3rd go with that cause i would like to have them on mine. but have had no problems. also b&m has shift stops, does the 5.0

I love my Pro 5.0, it seems to have stronger springs to keep the shifter centered. I had a ripper and it just felt a little loose, like the side springs werent very strong. The Pro 5.0 has adjustable stops. I really like mine, 2nd to 3rd is really nice. I'd buy it again.

I had the hurst switched to a pro 5.0 made a world of difference. I also shortened my stick by cutting 1/2 inch off. No complaints on the pro 5.0 many on the hurst.

I have had all the shifters listed above.

The Pro 5.0 is a good shifter, but has a curve to it, and is VERY noisy.

The Hurst/LSS combo is what I am running now. I like it better than the Pro 5.0.

BTW, the SLP shifter and the stock hurst are the same exact base

I have the Pro5.0 with a LSS. Best shifter EVER. All my friends with manuals envy it. I've never driven another car with a throw as short as my combo. I highly recommend it! Havn't missed 3rd since I got the shifter.
