I had to re tap because they sent the wrong bellhousing with the wrong bolts. The bolts/housing were a very close fit but not quite and by the time I realized something was wrong I had already done some damage. I will say that they at least were helpful in providing me with some tips to fix it and sent the correct one right away.

that being said, does anything have to be done as far as shimming the slave or anything to make up for the tranny being set back further than stock?

I believe the Quick Time bellhousing (including the engine plate) is in spec with the OEM bellhousing dimensions. Therefore, shimming would not be necessary.

I also am hoping to hear if any adjustments neccessary in the slave/t.o. bearing area. Getting close to pulling the trigger - likely on the Quicktime unit.

My setup just for whatever is important:
LS- T56 and Rhino hyd. t.o. bearing, with LS7 clutch & 168t flywheel. I'm mating to a reg. 4-bolt roller 1pc. sbc (but with 2pc. adapter).

BTW you can see I'm new to the site. Here I was hunting for some help and there's already a whole thread and stickie on it! Not too shabby.

I just ordered a RM6023 from Tim. I might have it tomorrow, at least by w/e. He claimed the hyd. TO bearing will be perfect for my app.

I'll add alittle input about the mcloed bellhousing. Well for starters the fitment isn't that good. There are three bolts on the housing that need to changed to allen head style bolts to get the proper torque on them. Which by the way really sucks cause two of them are hard as hell to get to. Thats just another overpriced product by mcloed that isn't worth a **** that some of bought cause they were the first company to offer it . So my vote go's to quicktime.

The quicktime fits almost like stock, very very easy. couple bolts are a pita but its expected, no cutting/grinding...

can someone confirm this?? i just got my QTP piece in and sold my stock bellhousing before i even knew there could be a differece in overall bellhousing height compared to stock. dont want any clutch engagement problems...

I have a new one sitting on my shop floor and a stock bellhousing right beside it so I can measure it for you to confirm. That said I've been assured by very reputable members and builders that the QuickTime piece is a direct bolt in replacement. I'll double check for you when I get to the shop though as I'm curious for the sake of interest to verify the dimensions myself

Although there is a difference of around 1mm in these pics I'd attribute that to the inner plate of the Quicktime as its just gravity holding it down and once its bolted up it would compress it that little bit where the stock bell is just once piece and has no inner. Regardless 1mm inst going to make jack squat difference in thew function of your hydraulics.

Consider this one a no brainer just bolt it in and go

oh one other question...whats the weight of the stock bellhousing? not too important but i did notice that my new one is MUCH heavier...

I dont have a scale here but the stock bell is very light. I'd guess around five pounds and the Quicktime piece is heavy i'd guess around 40lbs. Well worth hauling the extra weight for the extra safety IMO though
